Thank you so much for stopping by. Forgive the layout of this about me page, I changed my photo and the entire text is now squeezed together making it a bit hard to read. I am working on fixing this.
My name is Mieke and I will try to briefly tell you part of my story. I was born in the Netherlands and grew up split between the Netherlands, France and England. Moving around as a child had its challenges however looking back I am so grateful for everything these moves taught me.
While living in England I was so fortunate to attend a high school with an amazing fine arts program where I was introduced to the magic of photography and soon realised that what I loved most is photographing people & nature. (I call this part one of my photography career :).)
I went on to study Hospitality Management and worked for Hyatt, Starwood & Luxury Boutique Hotels for 12 years in the United States & the Caribbean. I truly love the hospitality industry and I feel fortunate to have found a career in service that suited me so well.
Eleven years ago, the lingering question “what if I had pursued photography” had to be answered and I combined my passion for photography, people & service and started Mieke Snepvangers Photography.
For the past 10 years I have primarily photographed weddings & events in and around Los Angeles and have recently moved back to the Netherlands where I have opened a photography studio focusing on
motherhood photography and creating fine art prints.
Each session is unique, the connections are as unique as the people. I intrinsically approach photography with preparation and a focus on capturing genuine moments, letting them unfold and capturing them and all the moments in between.
So that’s me, with my slightly British/American accent I would love to hear from you and help you capture the most meaningful moments of your life.
I am based in The Netherlands and with roots in the US & France I am available for travel there & all over Europe.
